Las Vegas is situated in the United States in the western state of Nevada. Rising like an oasis from the Mojave Desert, this city of over 1,000,000 people enjoys 300 days of sunshine a year. "Hey buddy, would ya pass me the suntan lotion?"
If ever there was a city that shouldn't be, it's Las Vegas. Starting life as a windswept watering hole on the Pioneer Trail, this is a city that continually beat the odds. Over the decades, Las Vegas grew into a kinda neon Camelot, whose casinos and Rat Pack style has become almost legendary; but if your ideas about Las Vegas look like an old Super 8 movie, prepare to be blown away. And I mean really blown away. This is not just a city. The Las Vegas of the 21st century is like visiting another planet - A Pleasure Planet! It's a total escapist fantasy. Everyone is here for a good time, from Grandma Joe to movie stars - "hey! isn't that...?". Whatever you want, you can have it here https://casinoslots-sa.co.za/online-casino-banking-sa. Looking for a taste of classic Vegas, Daddy O? Head Downtown to Fremont Street and into a world of old school cocktail lounges, piano bars and classic casinos. Okay. Now it's time to hit The Strip. If everything's big in Vegas, it's a hundred times bigger here. We're not talking casinos anymore, we're talkin' mythical cities - whole worlds geared around you having the time of your life. Whatever mood floats your boat, you'll find it here. Fancy three days of unbelievable indulgence? Say "buongiorno" to the Bellagio and her incredible dancing fountains. Step back in time at the Luxor or Caesars Palace. This is what Ancient Egypt and Rome might have been like if they'd discovered electricity and cocktails (or happy hours) a little sooner. Feeling more tropically inclined? Kick off those heels and feel the sand between your toes at The Mirage and Mandalay Bay resorts. The resorts on the Strip are so vast and self-contained, it's possible to land in one and not step outside again for the rest of your stay. But you will step out and explore the unique themes of at least a few others, sampling the incredible shows, dining, and shopping experiences each one has to offer. If this neon paradise still ain't enough for you, Mother Nature has a few surprises of her own. That is, if you can find your way out! The Valley of Fire is just 50 miles out of town, and the Grand Canyon is a half-a-day drive away. But as nighttime descends, Vegas calls like an incredible cluster of neon jewels under the desert sky. Las Vegas dazzles like no other city. She's here to remind us that we're here on Earth, not for a long time, but for a good time! And Las Vegas will be the best time you ever had.

Try to guess how much this nice, big bottle of Fiji water is? Ready? It’s $18 But maybe it’s water all the way from Fiji. Ok, Let’s try another one How about this nice refreshing can of coke found anywhere in the world. Ready?
It’s $8 Oh, Are you hungry? How about this cute small box of jumbo cashews. It’ll be $17 Yes, you heard it right. Jumbo cashews, not jumbo prawns No, I’m not from the future, but I am here to save your wallet These are the prices right now at MGM owned hotels in Las Vegas! It’s from that one area in your hotel room you don’t get near. The Golden Idol from Indiana Jones And for some of us, We made the mistake of NOT bringing our own water and waking up in the middle of the night feeling dry. We all know it’s a ripoff, but did you know it was THIS bad? I mean, here How about this Milk Chocolate Peanut Candy. The picture clearly looks like they just put M&Ms in there. So 4oz of it should be around $2. What? They renamed M&M’s peanut to Milk Chocolate Peanut Candy and they’re asking for $13. 4oz of Gummi Bears for $12 Amazon has a 5lb bag for the same price To put it into perspective, if this was a 4oz gummi bear, this is what a 5lb gummi bear would look like. Orange Juice for $9 That must be one of those freshly squeezed ones I don’t drink, but for anyone that knows their alcohol Jack Daniel’s Whiskey 50ml retails for $3, selling for $13 Grey Goose Vodka 375ml retails for $17, selling for $50 I did a quick estimate If you take everything from the minibar, you will pay $763 If you picked everything up at CVS, you would’ve saved over $500+ Everything is on a sensor. MGM apparently gives you 60 seconds to put it back, but I just wouldn’t touch it. They don’t even make the prices easy to see. At Bellagio, you have to start your TV and find the mini bar pricing through the menu Our TV didn't even work half the time To add insult to injury, they charge you for storing anything in their fridge That’s right.. That little space you see, you better not put anything in there because that’s going to be… $50. Please just stay away from the minibars at MGM properties. Ok, here are some big juicy watermelon tips for you to solve this problem By the way, I’m all about saving money so please subscribe to my channel if you want to see more videos like this. The first day when you get there, enjoy your day, gamble, eat, watch a show but before you head back to your hotel, make a CVS or Walgreens stop. They are located everywhere around the strip and they are insanely crowded. It’s like a black friday sale going on in there everyday which it kind of is compared to our hotel minibar. Buy a few bottles of water and some food. Even if you don’t plan to eat in your room. Trust me, it’ll come in handy. If you don’t want to walk to a convenience store, there are people trying to sell water on the strip for a dollar. You won’t miss them, they’re usually on or under the bridge yelling “ice cold water” over and over and over. If you don’t want to leave your hotel, just sit at a slot machine and a waitress will come around asking if you want anything. You can ask for water and they’ll give you this tiny hotel branded water. If you’re at a nicer hotel, you can request Fiji water. You should tip the waitress $1 for bringing the water to you. Ok, the last solution I don’t like but it’s better than your minibar, is to go to the hotel’s gift shop. They have water for half the price of your minibar which is still a big rip off. About keeping your food cool without being charged $50 you can request a mini-fridge for a daily fee. But I would either buy a styrofoam cooler or just fill up your sink with the free ice. That’s it! Plan ahead and stay away from that minibar! By the way, is minibar one word or two words? Ocean’s 11 and MGM says it’s two words But the dictionary shows it as one. Anyways Thank you for watching! If you would like more money saving tips, please remember to hit the Subscribe button or watch my other videos Thank you :) How can you assess your comfort level for stock? Investing first consider your own personal view of risk. If your stock portfolio went up or down in price 20 percent in one year, is that something you could live with, if not how about 10 percent? Think of your own comfort level, once you decide on risk, have a financial advisor design, a portfolio that fits your personal risk tolerance.
You should also consider your age and the timeframe for your investing the longer you have to invest the more time you have to make up for stock price declines say that you're 30 years old you plan to work until age 65. You can afford to take more risk by investing in equities. If you suffered losses, you have many years to make up for those losses. As investors get closer to retirement, they typically move funds out of stocks and into other less volatile investments. Like bonds, bonds represent debt issued by corporations and municipalities like cities and states, investors buy bonds. The bond issuers say Microsoft agrees to two types of payments. First, Microsoft agrees to pay the investor interest each year, usually twice a year. The bond issuer also agrees to repay your original amount, invested on a specific future date called a maturity date. Your original investment is referred to as the principal amount. All of these details are stated in a written document called a bond indenture okay. So why would an investor purchase a bond? Well, a bond offers a more predictable rate of return than buying a stock assume that you buy a $ 10,000 6 % bond due in 10 years. You'Ll receive 6 % interest on your $ 10,000 each year. That $ 600 will be paid in two installments of $ 300. Each you'll also receive your original $ 10,000 investment at the end of 10 years. Here'S a key point: if you hold the bond until maturity in 10 years, you know you'll get $ 600 in annual interest and that your $ 10,000 will be returned at maturity. A bond rating is just like reviewing an individual's credit report. The rating is based on whether or not the bond issuer repays interest in principal on time. A bond rating also takes into account how much total debt the corporation has outstanding. A higher bond rating means that the issuer is more likely to make all require payments on time. A higher bond rating also means that the corporation can issue bonds at a lower interest rate. Investors are willing to accept a lower interest rate in exchange for a higher bond rating. Some investors purchase bonds with a lower bond rating. While these purchasers are in a higher interest rate, there is also a risk that the in issuer will not pay principal or interest on time. So how does bond investing fit into your investment plans? Most investors buy a combination of stocks. Stocks offer a higher potential rate of return, but also involve more risk of price decline. Bonds offer more certainty. Your mix of stocks and bonds in your investment portfolio should change over time. Young investors will invest more in stocks and lessen bonds. If stocks in the portfolio decline in price, the young investor has more time to make up for those losses. As investors get older and closer to retirement, they will shift more of their investment dollars into bonds. Most investors want a more predictable return on their investment dollars. As they get closer to retirement, using what you've learned play around with those investment tools and see what portfolios you can come up with and what works for you, you 6. Build Camaraderie
This aspect of Greek life is one that I treasure above all others. My time in the Greek system has been the best time of my life because of the friends I have made in Pi Kappa Alpha. I would wager that many other fraternity and sorority members would say the same. Joining a house all but guarantees meaningful, lifelong friendships. 7. Get Better Grades Every year, the average GPA of Greek members nationally is significantly higher than that of non-Greek members. The reason for this is the Greek community's commitment to scholarship. When you go through college as an independent, your education is your battle and yours alone. In a Greek house, you are given excellent online resources. Study hours, past test files, personal tutors, old notes, and advice on what professors to avoid are some of the advantages that Greek members enjoy. This gives us a leg up on everyone else, and the statistics prove that our methods are effective. 8. Learn to Work with All Types of People With as many as three hundred members in one Greek house, it is unreasonable to think that everyone will see eye to eye. Today's Greek system is characterized by diversity of ethnicity, interests, and beliefs. The success of a house on campus is dependent on its members ability to work well together and overcome differences. This skill is one that all college students would be wise to learn. It is indispensable in today's business world. 9. Become a Part of Something Bigger Helen Keller said, Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much. In college, it is easy to get lost in the sea of thousands of people on your campus. Joining a Greek organization sets you apart from the masses and allows you to accomplish much more than any individual. Additionally, the spirit of togetherness within a house is empowering and provides a certain sense of security. You know that your brothers or sisters have your back through thick and thin, and you have theirs as well. In Closing.. I am so thankful for what my fraternity has done for me. It has made me love college more than I thought was possible. The friends I have found and the memories we have made together will hold a special significance with me for the rest of my life. If you've had a similar experience or disagree completely, I would love to hear your opinion. Please leave a comment. 2. Enhance Social Skills
Joining the Greek system opens the door to a whole new social circle of the best and brightest students on your college campus. Personally, I have met so many more people since joining Pike then I met my freshman year. I have found true and lasting friends within my own fraternity. I have dated and become good friends with smart and classy women from different sororities. I have met great guys in other houses. The constant social interaction within the Greek system has allowed me to become a more conversational and confident person. 3. Build Leadership Skills Members of the Greek system are much more likely to build solid leadership skills in college than non-members. Anyone in a fraternity or sorority knows that Greek house members are encouraged to actively participate in their chapters political system as well as other organizations around campus. On my campus, 20% of the student population is Greek, and yet Greeks make up 80% of student organizations. The important role of the Greek community in campus leadership primes Greek members for future success. Not only do leadership positions shine on a résumé., but managing responsibilities and making difficult decisions mold Greek members into more self-sufficient citizens with a winning attitude. 4. Facilitate Networking Opportunities With over 9 million Greek members nationally, it is easy to see how going Greek can plug you into a network of success. Not only are you able to personally network within the Greek system on your campus, but you are automatically given an in with every member of your national or international fraternity or sorority. Countless college graduates have utilized this powerful connection to find job opportunities near their chapter or hundreds of miles away. It is no coincidence that all but two of the US presidents since 1825 have been Greek, or that 85% of the Fortune 500 key executives belong to a fraternity. The Greek system is a launchpad to bigger and better things. 5. Focus on Community Involvement Nationally, Greeks volunteer approximately 10 million hours of community service each year. Houses encourage their members to participate in community service or philanthropy efforts to better the community and raise money for good causes. A thriving Greek system will give any college a sterling reputation within the community. The last part is waiting for you in my next post! The Greek system is just a bunch of snotty rich kids who have to buy their friends. Right?
Wrong. As an incoming freshman, I knew little about Greek life, and I sure didn’t think I would ever join a fraternity. I had heard the stereotypes about the rich snobs and meathead bro kings who went Greek to buy friends. This idea of Greek life is not uncommon among non-Greek students, yet it could not be farther from the truth. I met several members of the Greek system during my freshman year and realized that they were charismatic, intelligent, and driven people. A friend of mine in the Chi Omega sorority strongly encouraged me to rush a house, and for that, I am forever indebted to her. After meeting with a few fraternities, I went with my gut and pledged Pi Kappa Alpha in the fall of my sophomore year. Since going Greek, I have come to understand that beauty of the Greek system. I have realized that signing that bid card was the best decision of my college career. I would urge any incoming freshman or current college student to Go Greek. Here are 9 reasons why. 1. Have fun, memorable experiences Okay, okay College is fun and memorable for almost everyone. But The Greek system has more fun. I’m not just biased. Im speaking from the experience of spending a year in college as an independent before going Greek. Greek houses have yearly budgets in the tens of thousands of dollars. This finances all kinds of large-scale events from ski trips to music festivals. Additionally, fraternities and sororities hang out all the time. Fraternity men enjoy the luxury of being friendly with dozens of attractive sorority women. Sorority women enjoy the same relations with fraternity men. Huge parties with a balanced ratio of guys to girls who all know each other are much more fun and memorable than 20 random dudes and a handful of girls. Interested? Read more in my next post! |
